SUZCARESFORLITTLES
Happy to Meet Ya!

Hi! I’m Suz! I am a licensed speech pathologist, and I have a Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology from Western Carolina University, a Bachelor's degree in Comparative Religious Studies from Guilford College, and a background in Montessori education. I am the proud mama of two boys, Lucas, 10, and Beau, 7 whom I have raised on my own (and with the support of my incredible chosen family) here in Asheville. I was born in Forest Grove, Oregon, then lived in Brunswick, Maine for most of my early childhood. I attended Waldorf School for two years there, which was a really magical experience for me, and I am still in touch with my beloved Waldorf teacher, Nancy. My family then moved to Raleigh, North Carolina for a few years, and then to New Delhi, India for three and a half years. I was 12 when we moved there, and 15 when we left - quite a transformative time in my life! We then moved to Asheville, where I attended and graduated from Asheville High, and finally began to put down roots; Asheville is my home and I deeply love it here.
Testimonials
"My family is so lucky to have found SuzCaresForLittles. Our son started full days at Suz's when he was just shy of one, and she guided him through a big year of transition and growth into toddlerhood.
Jamie spent his days playing at the nearby park (a close walk that they can take in a WonderWagon), doing age-appropriate crafts and music, playing and just generally having the best time. I was consistently impressed with the level of care Suz brought to her little students, and especially loved the amount of time they got to spend outside together. Her dog, Warren, deserves his own testimonial for his genuine love and gentleness with the babies.
We will all dearly miss Suz, Warren and her lovely space."

"I can’t say enough good things about SuzCaresForLittles. The space is cozy, calming, and thoughtfully designed for little ones. My child was with Suz for over a year, and I couldn’t have been happier. Knowing my little one was safe, well-cared for, and genuinely loved every day was incredibly reassuring.
Suz was the first daycare experience for my child, and she instantly felt right at home. The emphasis on outdoor play and exploration was a wonderful bonus.
I highly recommend SuzCaresForLittles to any parent looking for a nurturing and loving environment."

"My daughter Ivy went to Suzcaresforlittles for over two years, and every day I marveled at how lucky we were to have discovered her. Suzannah is an absolute gem and her daycare/preschool is everything you could want it to be: peaceful, welcoming, warm, fun. She went above and beyond to create a safe and engaging space for the little ones who attend, with innovative crafts, trips to the park, outdoor play. Throughout the week Suz would even send me pictures of Ivy doing all sorts of fun stuff, always with a big smile and interacting with her little classmates. The other families and I formed quite a little community, and now that my daughter has aged out, I miss it terribly.
I will always be grateful to Suz, for so many things. I trusted her wholly, and never once felt worried or guilty or any of those things you think you might experience when you drop off your baby with someone else for the first time. Ivy thrived at Suzannah's. She was so happy, and so proud of her little self for going to school like a big girl. She fell in love with Suzannah, and so did I. Thank you Suz!"

“Suz was my 2 and a half year old daughter’s preschool teacher for the past year. We are so appreciative of the love and care she offered our daughter each day! Knowing my daughter was in such a safe, supportive, and fun context was an invaluable daily gift. Suz was also an invaluable resource to me as we went through potty training and other developmental stages! I highly recommend Suz for any of your nanny needs.”

"Suzannah is exactly the type of person your mind conjures up when thinking of who you’d feel most safe and comfortable leaving your child with. She is so caring, and her home is a magical wonderland for kids. My son talked about her and her play school nonstop when he attended. He never wanted to leave! It made us feel really good about our decision to have him in Suz’s care"

"We are fortunate to have known Suz for several years, and my son attended her summer program. He had the best time and even asked if he could move in with her! Suz is loving and competent, and she has created an ideal environment for learning and play. I recommend her program without reservation!"

"Suz has been the most amazing person to watch our 1.5 year old. He fell in love with her and still talks about her and their adventures. She made us feel comfortable from the start, always kept us informed, and I have to say, this was the best fit for us to transition to day care I ever experienced (Henry is our third child). Gentle, loving and fun.
Her home is so welcoming, she always had age appropriate activities planned and her outdoor place always gave our child something fun do do. Also, with her location so close to the park, it made it possible for her to easily take them over there. We could not have asked for a better place to take such loving care and when we drive or walk by, Henry still says: Bye Suz, LOVE you!"

She is a kind, skilled caregiver whose attention to and understanding of our child and their developmental stages surpassed our expectations. She is highly dependable and a proactive, clear communicator. In addition to beyond satisfactory childcare, these other aspects of professionalism were greatly appreciated."

"Ms. Suz is kind, loving, fun and cares deeply about her students. My daughter was lucky enough to have her as a preschool teacher for a year as well as a student in her play school over the summer. Her space always felt warm, clean and safe for the children to explore and play. My daughter talked about Ms. Suz and her sweet pup, Warren, all the time when she was enrolled. Suz is dependable, a great communicator and a committed teacher to the children and families that she serves"
